GoHighLevel Custom Field Name Checker
GoHighLevel Import Fix
Want us to fix the file for you? We map your contacts to your exact pipelines, stages and custom fields and return an import-ready CSV plus a field map.
Messy custom fields make CSV imports slow: "Lead Source", "lead source" and "Lead_Source" look like three fields on the mapping screen, and a custom "Phone" field competes with the standard one. Paste your field names below to find these problems before you create or import anything.
GoHighLevel custom field name checker
Paste your planned or existing custom field names, one per line. The checker flags names that clash with standard contact fields, near-duplicates that differ only by case, spacing or punctuation, and names that are hard to map in a CSV, then suggests a clean name and key for each.
Your file is read in your browser with JavaScript. Nothing is uploaded or sent anywhere, and nothing is stored after you close the page.
Naming rules we use
- Use a standard field when one exists (Email, Phone, Company Name, Address, Source and so on).
- One field per meaning. Merge near-duplicates before importing.
- Plain words in Title Case, no symbols such as $ or %, put the unit in the name instead ("Budget USD").
- Keep names short enough to read on the mapping screen and in CSV headers.
- Use the same name as the CSV column header, so mapping is obvious.
The suggested key is a lower-case, underscore version of the name. GoHighLevel generates its own keys, so treat ours as a naming guide for your CSV headers and documentation.
FAQ
Can I rename a custom field later?
Renaming the label is usually possible, but anything that references the field (workflows, forms, CSV templates) should be checked afterwards, so it is easier to get names right first.
Is anything sent to a server?
No. The check runs in your browser.
